Bears are CURENTLY in hibernation!
Two New Cubs are welcomed to Ober Gatlinburg!
Ober Gatlinburg’s Wildlife Encounter is proud to announce the birth of 2 black bear cubs, born January 31, 2012 to Minnie and BJ. The female, Holly, and her brother, Chief, made their public debut on Wednesday, May 9th. Come see the frisky cubs at play.
A visit to the Great Smoky Mountains wouldn't be complete without a Black Bear sighting and Ober Gatlinburg offers a fun and educational look at our furry neighbors and other animals native to our mountains.
Our Nocturnal House includes various species of native Smokies wildlife such as raccoons, skunks, flying squirrels, turtles, and snakes. See our River Otters playing at the underwater viewing area, and our Birds of Prey in an enclosed aviary.
Eventually bobcat, fox and other native species will also have homes at this new facility.
*Some animals do hibernate in the winter and may not be available for viewing.*
