New, Improved, and Changed for Winter 2026
At Ober Gatlinburg, we never have an "off-season." While we've been enjoying the summer activities across the mountain, we've also been hard at work preparing for winter. The core focus for this coming winter has been a full revamp of our snowmaking infrastructure, trail cleanup, and new additions on the mountain. We are committed to providing an affordable and memorable snow experience for guests visiting from across the country to feel the joy of snow this winter. After careful consideration, we were able to keep our season pass and day lift ticket rates the same as last season. Whether you're strapping on skis for the very first time or you're a seasoned skier carving down the slopes, we can't wait to welcome you. Read more below about the exciting improvements coming to the mountain and start getting ready for winter. Think SNOW!!! ❄
Snowmaking Infrastructure
This summer we've been hard at work revamping our snowmaking infrastructure. We've invested nearly $1M this summer on snowmaking improvements in three key areas:
Higher Pressure Output: We have improved our water pressure to nearly double across the mountain with higher-pressure pumps and higher-capacity pipes. This will allow us to nearly double the amount of snowmaking in the same period of time and should also produce lighter, fluffier snow for a better riding surface.
New Snowmaking: We added an entirely new arsenal of HKD Air/Water snowmakers, which will be lining the sides of Grizzly for better coverage. We are also placing new HKD snowmaking equipment in various other parts of the mountain, totaling 45 new Air/Water snowmakers across the slopes this winter.
Refurbishment of Existing Equipment: We had every single one of our SMI Polecat fan guns serviced and refurbished to ensure steady and consistent operation throughout the winter. In addition to the fan guns, all SMI Latitude and Snowmagic all-weather snowmaking machines were serviced to ensure reliable operation into this winter.

Same Rates, New Night Pass
2026/27 Ski Season
We value our loyal guests who have made Ober their winter destination for family fun. We know there are a lot of considerations when planning a winter getaway and we want to ensure experiencing snow is accessible to as many families as possible. Because of this, we have decided to keep our pass rates (Season Passes and Day Tickets) the same as last season. Get ready for an even better winter season at the same rate as last year.
New Night Pass: In addition to our traditional season pass, we will now offer a new Night Season Pass. This pass allows the passholder access to the slopes for the last four hours of any winter operating day.
October 15 Pass Launch: Full Season Passes, Night Season Passes, and Snow Tubing booking will all be available starting Thursday, October 15. There will still be the same early-bird pricing as last year, with rates increasing November 23.

Season Passholder Luncheon
Saturday, October 31
Our season passholders are a vital part of the mountain and of ski culture. We want to celebrate that by inviting all guests who pre-purchase their season pass to visit the mountain for a free luncheon to meet our mountain operations crew, learn about the new changes and upgrades across the mountain, and thank our guests for their continued support of Ober. Anyone who purchases a 2026/27 season pass by Oct. 31 is welcome to join for this luncheon. All guests who attend with their new season pass can enjoy the mountain for the day with a complimentary Adventure Pass.
